1. Are you looking forward to the time change this weekend?

No. I like my sleep and am always screwed up for about a week. I didn't notice anything different with Hailey in the fall when we gained an hour, but this is our first DLS time to lose an hour. So we will see how it goes.

2. Are you getting the new iPad/would you want a iPad?

We do not currently have an iPad, but have talked about it in the past. We just got a new desktop in December for Xmas and then we just purchased a new laptop in mid February, because ours died. Both are PC's. We don't have anything against Macs at all. Both the Hubs and I have iPhones and LOVE them. We are thinking that once Hailey starts getting into cartoons/movies that it would be a smart purchase.

3. If money was not a problem, what is the one thing you would splurge on?

A new house. We are currently renting and "waiting" for the right time to buy. But that's all I really want right now is my own house.

4. How did you and the Mr. (or Mrs.) meet?

5. Summer is right around the corner. Bikini or one-piece?

I am now a one piece (or a two piece that covers up my tummy) kind of gal. While I am fitting into most of my pre-baby clothes, I do not have a pre-baby tummy anymore. Not sure I ever will again and I am ok with that.

Today is...International Women's Day!

Today is March 8, 2012.

Today is International Women's Day.

I am imperfect.

I sometimes neglect my hair and appearance.

I never make my bed.

{unless someone is coming over or my Mother/Mother in law does it for me}.

I prefer white bread over wheat.

I love chocolate.

I like red meat.

I often stay up way too late and don't get enough sleep.

I don't eat as many fruits and veggies as I should.

I can get super cranky or moody.

I sometimes neglect my chores until they get way out of hand.

I leave dirty dishes in the sink for my Husband to take care of.

I usually am a procrastinator.

I often start things and don't finish them (right away).

I leave clean clothes in the clothes basket for days on end before folding/putting away.

I sometimes swear.

I sometimes cry.

I am imperfect.

And that's okay.

I still like myself.

To all the women out there, happy International Women's Day.

Today is World Read Aloud Day!

Hailey's not super interested in books thus far. Don't get me wrong, we read books and always will, but she much rather be moving around and NOT sitting still. She's 8 months old. I can't blame her. At this point she just wants to go, go, go. She is almost crawling, but closer to walking, so her instincts just tell her to move. I get it.

Also, she currently likes to eat the books or turn the pages really fast so that I cannot actually read the book, I usually make it up as we go. We are trying to work on the whole patience thing, which I think will be more tough as she gets older (obviously).

If she is anything like her Father, she doesn't have the patience to sit still and just read. Wayne has never been a big reader, but I on the other hand love to read and always have.

It will be fun to see, as with other things, how her habits grow and develop and what she will take from me or from Wayne or from both of us.

Friday night I ran a few errands (Michaels and Target) before going home.

I then went home, ate dinner with the Hubs and hung out with Hailey. Hubs left at 9pm like usual and by that time Hailey was down for the night, too, so I surfed the net for awhile, before heading to bed rather early. It was a normal (low key) Friday night for me.

Saturday, 03.03.2012

I packed up Hailey, dropped her of at my parents house and then went to Amanda and Greg's house for the maternity photo shoot. Amanda is 38 weeks pregnant, so it was really fun. I did their engagement photos in the fall of 2010, their wedding in June 2011 and now they are expecting a little boy in a couple weeks. Once I get the pictures edited, I will do a separate post about that. It was fun though and I had a great time.

I then stopped at Target again to grab a few things I had missed the night before and then went and hung out with my family at my parents house. We watched Crazy, Stupid Love.

Hubby took me to it when it first came out, but my Mom and sister had not seen it yet What?! I couldn't believe it, so we watched it. Plus, who doesn't love Ryan Gosling??

I strategically plan that Hailey and I head home at bedtime, always making sure she is fed beforehand. She falls asleep in the car on the way home, I transfer her gracefully to her crib and then she is was out for the night. I knew Lindsay Lohan was on SNL, so I planted myself in bed, but I was so beat from the day, I only made it about halfway. I did see The Real Housewives of Disney. Seriously so HILARIOUS!! Go watch! I ended up watching the rest of SNL Sunday afternoon, but it really wasn't great. Don't get me wrong, I like LiLo and probably am the only person on this planet that does, but the skits were disappointing.

This morning I met a couple for breakfast that is interested in me photographing their wedding in December. It was a great meeting and they are such a cute couple! Yay for new clients!

I then stopped at the mall on my way home to exchange a super cute, new pair of black boots to a larger size. Can't wait to wear them and show them off. I also got a red pair of peep-toe pumps that I will have to share as well. I love shopping!

Wayne had went out to breakfast with our friend Adam and played video games in the basement like boys do. Anyone else's significant other like video games? I took a nap while Hailey napped. I couldn't even keep my eyes open.

Then we ate dinner and Husband was bound and determined to get me hooked on The Walking Dead. It is currently in the middle of season 2 and he has seen all episodes, so I am playing catch-up.

Anybody watch it?

Well, 3 episodes in and I'm hooked.

That pretty much consisted of our Sunday night, but it was rather lovely hanging out with him.

This morning we had a Baptism Class at our church. Everyone that wishes to have their child baptized at our church is required to take this class. Wayne usually works Saturday mornings, but he got the clearance to go in late, so we could both attend.

Hailey's baptism is set for Sunday, April 22nd. Yay!

Tonight we hosted a Superbowl Party! I think in future years if it is a team that I really like or a game I actually want to watch then we won't be having a party. I always forget how much work it is. A LOT, and we didn't even have that many people over. I had spent the day cleaning my house and making food.

I made burgers with all the fixings, taco salad, BQQ meatballs, chip dip/chips and then a chocolate fondue for desert. Our friends also brought some desserts with too, that were super yummy.

Thankfully my parents were there to help all day, but it's still draining. I was sad that I didn't get to watch much of the game or the commercials, but the Giants won, so that's all I ultimately cared about.

I am a Giants fan, but bigger yet, I am an Eli Manning fan. I love the Manning brothers!

This afternoon we went to my friend, Laura's, house for Ben's 1st birthday party. It's always fun to see all their family and friends that we have gotten to know over the years. They are all so fun and nice. Hailey, my sister, Amie, and I went. It was fun to see Ben eat and play with his cupcake. They were delicious!

It made me start excited and got me thinking about Hailey's 1st birthday party. I know, it's not until June, but it's still fun.

Nail Files - 03.02.2012

I'm going to link up with Tara over at Fabulous But Evil for her Friday Nail Files link-up. I actually got these done last Friday night, but was way too busy that evening to blog about it or link-up. I was at Myth Nightclub seeing DJ Pauly D. Ha!

I've been wanting to get my nails done for so long, but was putting it off. This picture is from last Saturday morning. I love gel nails/nail polish because it makes your nails look so good and lasts so long. Even now a week later, they still look good.

These are fake, gel nails. I get them done at my fave salon. I also get them shorter than most because I type a lot.

The color is Red Baroness from CND Shellac. At first I thought it might be too dark, but it's actually perfect. I usually like reds and pinks, but I might try something different next time. We'll see if I chicken out.

I'm hoping not to have to get a fill or new polish for another 2 weeks. That would be a total of 3 weeks and I'm not sure if it last, but we'll see!

Hailey: 8 months

8 months

You love all fruits and veggies and have now tried and love yogurt. In the last couple weeks, we have given you bits and pieces of different things to try as we are eating, such as banana bread, rice krispies, shredded cheese and spaghetti.

You have really started to pay attention to what Mommy and Daddy are eating.

You still eat a fruit combo in the morning (with Oatmeal) and a vegetable/protein combo at night (with Rice cereal).

You are now eating about 6 oz of milk for daytime feedings and before bed. I think you are going through another growth spurt as you have been downing so much milk lately.

You sometimes don't like to take naps. It just varies on the day. One day I had to finish getting ready because we needed to be somewhere. Mommy improvised and you did so good.

You are still going to bed by about 9pm and sleeping until about 8am...on average.There have been a few nights lately where you stay up late and then like to sleep in. You are your Mother's daughter.

You love to pull on the dogs collars. That is your newest thing. If they are close enough to you, you get it. Sometimes they are nervous around you and sometimes they aren't.

You have gotten so vocal and are talking and screaming all the time.

You still put everything in your mouth.

You are still drooling, but I feel not as much. It may be just because I am so used to it. Who knows.

You still go through about 3-4 bibs a day.

You still love your jumperoo, jumper and your walker, but lately prefer just playing on the floor.

You can sit up by yourself without Mommy or Daddy having to worry that you might tip over.

You are always moving and don't sit still anymore.

You are getting into the crawl position and are constantly moving from sitting, to crawl position to tummy, to back, back to tummy and spinning around all at the same time.

You don't stay on your tummy for long, now that you can roll over from tummy to back and vice versa.

You do get up on all 4's once in awhile and rock back and forth.

You are also pulling yourself up on things.

You love music and have started "dancing."

You have really started showing us your personality and react to us taking things away from you or saying No.

You still have deep, gray eyes.

Your hair is still growing and Mommy is actually thinking about cutting your bangs again.

You are growing right on track, but are still our peanut.

You are wearing a few 6 month clothing, but are mostly in all 6 month or 6-9 month clothing and pajamas.

Your giggle is the best thing in this entire world.

You are wearing size three diapers.

You open your mouth when we kiss you like you are trying to kiss back.

You have two teeth now that are definitely visible.

You love to make funny faces.

You still don't care for your nuk at all. I can't even remember the last time you had it.

You still love when we hold your hands and you stand up. You are so proud.

You sit like a big girl in high chairs at restaurants.

You still LOVE bath time and like to kick your feet and splash. You are still in the infant tub, but we will probably try it without soon. Mommy still gets nervous, so we will see.

You had your first cold last week, but we got through it and you were a champ!

You are so alert and people comment on it frequently.

You are so very precious to us and we love you more and more everyday.

We can't remember life without you and wouldn't change it for the world!

We had my brother's blessing ceremony at our Church this morning. He is currently sharing the Senior High Director position with another guy from January 15 - April 12, 2012, while Paul is in Peru on sabbatical with his wife. It had to be approved by the board and is a huge deal, thus the blessing ceremony in front of the congregation. This an excerpt from the website:

"Anthony Grillo and Ross Stager will be serving as Interim Sr. High Ministers at Immanuel while Paul is away on sabbatical. Anthony and Ross are long time members of Immanuel, having been a part of the confirmation program and attending several mission trips along the way. Their ministry gifts and talents will be a blessing to the congregation and the youth of Immanuel"

I am so proud of him and this journey he has taken.

Tonight we went and visited my cousin Beth. She had just gotten a new puppy that week. A yellow lab they named Hunter. So we wanted to go meet him. Isn't he precious?

This is only after about an hour of playing that he finally calmed down a bit. We wore him out.

They also have another pup, a yellow lab named Riley, so we were so excited to go see both pups. They got Riley last year, but he is now one big boy!

Today we went and had lunch at the Horton's house. We met their new dog, Mufasa.

He liked Hailey and Hailey liked him.

We hadn't seen them in awhile and it was a lot of fun.

I purchased these two tunic tops from Target online and have received them, but have not worn them yet. I actually don't know yet if I will keep them or not. I'm undecided. I love tunics. I love wearing leggings or tights with boots. I just love it all. Lately, I have been trying to look and buy things that I can wear with my grey and brown tall boots that I got for Christmas (not from Target). I figured I could wear either of these tunics with my grey boots.

But then what color tights? Black? Navy blue? Grey? I'm just not sure.

Oscar Fashion!

Last night was the Oscars and I love all the award shows and this time of year because of it. I usually watch E! for any pre-show of an event, cause I LOVE all the fashion talk. I especially love Giuliana Rancic. Speaking of Giuliana, let's start there.

These are all looks that I LOVED.

This is what she wore last night and I loved the whole look.

Doesn't she look stunning?

Cameron Diaz. Flawless. Love everything about it.

Emma Stone. Love it all. I have a major girl crush, what can I say.

Ellie Kemper (from Bridesmaids). Love everything from the clutch to the jewelry.

She is a complete package.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Stunning in white with minimal accessories. I'm not loving the jacket. I think it looks like a cape, but everything else is perfect.

Octavia Spencer.This dress REALLY flatters her figure. I wish Melissa McCarthy would have done something like this, but I'm so glad Octavia won!

Viola Davis. Love everything about it. I wish she would have won over Meryl Streep.

Penelope Cruz. So gorgeous!! Another total package.

Maria Menounos. Love the color and style.

Tina Fey. I'm not really a fan of hers or what she wears, but she looked stunning last night with her choices.

Most of these ladies I liked for the most part or didn't really care either way. I was TORN.

Michelle Williams. So gorgeous from the front, although I didn't like the pink clutch.

I also hated the back. No nude please.I think it would have been so much better if it were all the same color.

Kelly Ripa: Love most of it, but it seems a little too long and a little too blah.

Mara Rooney. Not sure how I felt about this dress. Again I like it a lot from the front, but not from the back. She did way better than her sister, Kate. See below.

Rose Byrne (from Bridesmaids). This did nothing for me in either direction, but I do love her hair.

Glenn Close. She is one beautiful lady and I love everything, but the jacket.

Kelly Osbourne. I love the dress, but I still don't care for the hair.

Melissa McCarthy. At first I really liked it and then I really hated it and now I just don't know what to think. Not sure if it's the color or what, but something is off.

Bernice Bejo. I like the mint color, but was underwhelmed by this choice. I expected more of her and was disappointed.

Sandra Bullock. From the front I didn't like at all. It looks too baggy and not fitted or flattering.

But then I see it from the back or the side and then I love it. So it completely throws me for a loop.

Jessica Chastain (from Bridesmaids). I love her and think she is adorable. Although I don't think this dress is horrible, it's not my favorite and I feel like she could have picked something better.

Melanie Griffith. Love it and her, minus the tattoo. Ugh.

These were all DUDS for me.

Meryl Streep. This did nothing for me. I was actually disappointed. It looks like she just took a bunch of fabric and tried to twist it like a toga. I did love her acceptance speech, although I was rooting for Viola Davis.

Penelope Ann Miller. Too teeny bopper for me.

Kate Mara. Rooney's sister. I like her, but did not like this dress. It looks like a mess and she looks like she is slouching.

Shailene Woodley. I LOVE her, but didn't like this choice. She is 20 years old and this is too old of a look for her. I like this dress, but on someone older.

Judy Greer. Hate it.

Anna Faris. Hate it.

Wendy McLendon (from Bridesmaids). Love her hair, but not the dress. Too messy and too blah.

Kristen Wiig. Love her, but not her choices. I think I would have liked it better if her hair was up. This look for me is too casual for the Oscars and especially with her being nominated and presenting.

J.Lo. I am not a fan of hers, so this doesn't surprise me. To me this look is not glamorous, but slutty. I also hate that there was nipple slip talk. Gross.

Maya Rudolph. Again, I'm not a fan of hers, so I didn't like this at all. It looks too heavy.

Melissa Leo. Hate it.

THE MEN

The men get overlooked quite a bit, because let's face it, they all usually wear black. One standout for me was Jonah Hill. I also love that he brought his Mom. So sweet.

Another standout guy is Jason Segal.

COUPLES

As far as cutest couples...George Clooney and Stacy Kiebler take the cake. Love them both and she is stunning!

Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann. I am a hug fan of both and they are adorable!!

I love everything about Leslie's look.

Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman. Super cute. I actually loved Natalie's dress and choices of accessories.

Christpher Plummer and Elaine Taylor. They are adorable. I loved that he won and I loved his speech.

Jean Dujardin and Alexandra Lamy. I don't think he is that good looking and I am not sure how I feel about her dress or purse. I thought they were just OK.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. One word. Hate. I don't hate Brad so much. I just hate them together. But I do totally hate Angelina. I think she is way too skinny and this whole leg out thing is just stupid. I know it's for the dress, but then pick a different dress cause you look stupid.

Back in November, my Mom asked me to go to a cleaning party at one of her co-workers house.

A what?

Yes, you heard me right. A cleaning party. I thought she was crazy, but of course I went.

1) I was intrigued about what a "cleaning party" would consist of;

2) My Mom wanted to show Hailey off to her co-workers; and

3) Again, I was intrigued about what a "cleaning party" would consist of.

So, off we went.

I know it totally sounds weird, but let's just say it changed my life drastically.

Here's the quick lowdown on the basics of the products taken from the website:

Basically I went to the first party in November, fell in love with these products and then had my own party in January. Then my Mom's friend, Shelly, booked a party from my party and that was just last Monday (2/20/2012). And now another friend of mine is having a party in March, but from another rep. That will be 4 parties so far. Can you say addicted?

In November I just started with the basic package (see below). There were so many products I wanted, but I knew I had to pace myself and start little by little. I was amazed by not only the products, but also the presentation by Kris and knew that I had to try it and get this basic package first. With Hailey being 4 months old, I knew it would be no time at all before she was crawling around on our floors and putting things in her mouth. I wanted to get the cleaning chemicals as far away from her as possible.

The basic package consists of 3 things.

1) Antibac Enviro Cloth (green);

2) Window Cloth (purple); and

3) Antibac Microfiber Mitt (blue).

I'm super excited to get the new products (Dishwashing Liquid and Odour Eliminator) I haven't tried, yet. I'm continually amazed by everything I try. I should get them within a week or two and will most likely do another post after that.

I found this dress in-store last Thursday and wore it to work on Friday. Love it. It is grey and navy blue, so I paired it with navy blue tights and my grey boots. Not the best quality pic, but you get the idea.

Here's five of my favorite things from this past week:

1. We got our tax money in the bank!! Cha-ching! So happy that I can continue to pay off a few things (little by little) and we don't have to live paycheck to paycheck.

2. I found a swimsuit that I feel comfortable wearing. It's a total mom swimsuit, but what's important to me is that it's not so revealing and super comfortable. My boobs are huge and I just don't want to feel self-conscious or weird. I want to look good, but really it's more about comfort for me. 99% of the time I will be with Hailey swimming, and bending over and twisting and turning and holding her, etc. The list goes on and on. It needs to serve a purpose now more than anything else.

3. We got a new laptop tonight. It will take some getting used to, but so far so good.We've had it for about 2 hours now.

4. I am so proud of the continuing progress with my Husband's weight loss. I can tell that he is losing weight by just looking at him. It's kinda crazy. I love that his clothes are fitting better and he's gaining more self confidence.

5. This weekend. Wayne is going out of town, so it's just me and the babe and I don't have anywhere to be. I plan on cleaning my house, getting caught up on my DVR, spending some quality time with the Babe, napping, playing around online with our new computer.

Big D's Weight Loss Beatdown!

Wayne is just over 8 weeks into his weight loss journey. He has lost about 65 lbs in that time and has really changed his eating habits and routines. I couldn't be more proud of him. I am, by default of being his wife, on this journey with him. And to tell you the truth, I wouldn't have it any other way.

No, I am not eating as strictly as he is, but I have definitely changed some of my eating habits as well. I don't buy most of the things I used to because quite frankly he can't eat most of them. So I buy what he can eat, which at this point in the process isn't much.

With Wayne being over weight, we have been down this road many a times before with him dieting and trying so many different things to lose weight. Nothing has stuck thus far, but I think now it has. How do I know? I just do. I feel it. He has changed and I see it in him everyday how seriously he is taking this. It honestly has strengthened our relationship and we have grown closer because of it.

The last 8 weeks have been a non-stop mental, emotional and physical roller-coaster, not so much for me physically, but definitely emotionally and mentally. I often wonder if we will ever get off. At this point, today, I am doing great, but if you would have asked me last week how I was doing it might have been a different story.

Last week's weigh-in was difficult. You can read about Wayne's hiccup HERE, but I know it is worth it and it WILL be worth it down the road when I have a skinnier and more importantly HEALTHIER Husband and Father to my daughter. That's really all I want, is just for him to be healthy. I want him to be here for Hailey and see her grow into the beautiful woman I know she will be, but I also desperately want to grow old with him, too.

I know I'm selfish in that way.

Here are the basics of his diet right now:

He has to have about 5-6 proteins a day. Those are made up of 2 protein shakes a day (1 in the morning and 1 in the evening) and then 3-4 meats per day. He gets the protein shakes through MedShape Weight Loss Clinic. Read more on his blog about them.

1 meat about the size of HIS palm or 4 eggs is 1 serving of protein. We go between chicken, steak, burgers, turkey burgers, grilled chicken patties (nothing breaded) and fish.

He cannot have any carbs of any kind. So no bread or buns to go with those chicken patties or burgers...also no pasta, pizza, cereal, rice etc. Think of how many things ARE carbs or have carbs IN them. A LOT!

He can have an unlimited amount of veggies, minus carrots, beans and peas. He cannot have those because they have too many sugars in them.

Carrots have sugar? Yes, yes they do. He was crushed when he found this out, because that's a veggie that he actually LIKES eating. But we adjusted and now he eats a lot of spinach salad, broccoli and cauliflower, with some cucumbers and celery thrown in there from time to time.

He also is limited to two fruits a day, but because so many fruits contain sugar, he is very limited right now as to what he can have. He can have apples, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. All the others are pretty much ruled out.

He also cannot have any dairy which means no milk and no cheese.

The first 18 weeks of this program are VERY strict and limiting. They pay high attention to carbs and sugars.That is the most important thing in this first phase. After the first 18 weeks he can begin to add some of the restricted things back in, but for right now it's very limited and we're honestly trying not to think about that right now. Take it one day at a time right?

There is also a brand of condiments that you can get at Cub Foods called Walden Farms. They have truly been life-saving in all of this.

No, we are not getting anything free from Walden Farms for me talking about or posting about this, but they have made this whole process a little easier and I suggest checking out their variety of products if you are interested in any way. If we can help anyone at any point in this process, even a little, we want to.

Wayne's favorite is the Chocolate Dip.

He eats this with his apples and fruit as a little treat. My favorite is the BBQ sauce. They have 4 different flavors and my favorite is the Honey BBQ. Wayne eats this with all different meats and sometimes even puts it on his veggies.

If you do check out the website you will see that these items are generally more expensive than other brands, but if you consider how much you are gaining (not weight, but in other ways) and are really committed to losing weight, then it is priceless. Some of the other things we have tried is the Ranch Dip, Peanut Spread, most of the salad dressings, caramel dip and chocolate syrup. They also have lots of different recipes on the site, that we haven't tried, yet, but will be utilizing when that time comes and he can start adding things back in.

Our Love Story

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?

We officially started dating 9 years ago on July 12, 2012.

2. How did you meet? (What's your "love" story?)

We met at THE trashiest nightclub ever in downtown MPLS. Wayne hates telling people that, but it's true. We hung out on and off and were friends for about 6 months before we actually started officially dating.

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}

I knew after about 3 months of dating him, that he was the one I was going to marry. We started dating on 7/12/2003, we moved in together 4/1/2004, we were engaged 10/15/2004 and were married on 11/11/2006, so we just celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary.

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?

We got married at my home church (Immanuel Lutheran) in Eden Prairie. Our reception was at the Park Plaza hotel in Bloomington. We had a big wedding. I loved my wedding so much. Truly one of the best days of my life.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!

We use a lot of different pet names for each other: honey, hun, babe, baby, sweetie, wifey are just some of the most used.

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.

Only 3? First off, he is the funniest person I know. He can make me laugh like no one else. Secondly, he truly loves me unconditionally without a doubt. And three, he is the best Daddy to our daughter. What more could a significant other ask for in their man, right?

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?

Flashback to October 15, 2004. My Husband was working the night shift at his job and got done at midnight. We lived in the Cities and he worked in St. Cloud, so he still had an hour long drive home. He had just gotten a promotion that week at work and so coupled with the huge promotion that he had just gotten in September, he was so excited about it that he decided we should get married. Obviously, right?!. Things were going our way and we were on the upswing, so why not.

Within about a day or so, he talked to his family, to my family and then he went to buy the ring. He bought it on a Thursday and was originally planning on keeping it until the weekend, but knowing him he can't keep a secret, so that night (or Friday morning actually) as he got home at about 1:30 am, he came into our bedroom and turns on the light. So not cool. Now waking up anyone at 1:30 am is probably not going to win you any points, but I love my sleep, so I himmed and hawed at him to shut the light off and that I needed my sleep cause I had to get up the next morning for work. I admit it, I was a bit of a brat. Well, he didn't listen to me and knelt down by our bed and said some really sweet things to me and then pulled out a ring...MY ring...MY engagement ring. I was sleepy and confused and didn't know what to say, so after a minute, he looked at me and said, "Well?" And of course I said "YES!"

We stayed up until about 3am talking about all the different things to come and how excited we were. We finally went to bed and I went into work late that day. I was so excited to show off my engagement ring to all my coworkers and start spreading the news!

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?

He is a flowers/teddy bear kind of a guy. He used to buy me flowers on a regular bases (not just for Valentines Day), but hasn't in awhile. We usually exchange cards and a gift of some sort though.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or a pop a movie in and relax on the couch?

Definitely a movie and cuddle kind of a gal. Our usual date night if we do go out will be dinner and a movie. Or sometimes we just skip dinner and buy food at the movie theater and treat that as our dinner. I wouldn't mind a picnic on the beach at sunset though. Maybe one of these years.

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant other one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?

I want us to go on some sort of vacation somewhere, just the two of us. I would love to take a REAL honeymoon vacation somewhere...not visiting family and again...just the two of us. Preferably somewhere that looks like this:

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.

I think we are planning on him picking up food from one of our favorite places...CRAVE and then coming home and hanging out with our daughter and then maybe a movie after she goes to bed.

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?

Nothing in particular. I have several things on my "need/want list:" 1. New laptop. Ours just died. 2. New camera. My point and shoot that I keep in my purse 24/7 is a POS and long overdue on replacing. 3. Car starter. For my new ride of course and because once again I'm a brat like that. 4. Some new work clothes/workout clothes. 5. New walking/running shoes.

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.

I'd say communicating with that person and listening to the other person wholeheartedly.

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.

For me it is our daughter, Hailey. She is a product of our past, present and future love. She is our everything.

1. NY Giants winning the Superbowl.

I am a huge fan of both Manning brothers and am hoping Peyton comes to the Vikings next year. Purple 18 jersey? Yes please! Well, enough about Peyton. This is about Eli. He has now won TWO superbowls, both against the Patriots and both against Tom Brady! He had so many people talking crap about him this year when they lost 4 in a row.Just goes to show you, never give up!

2. New England Patriots losing the Superbowl.

I am NOT a Patriots fan or a Tom Brady fan. I think he is a whiny baby.

3. Kelly Clarkson at the Superbowl.

I love her and thought she did such a great job singing the National Anthem and looked stunning doing it

4. I have Ben's 1st Birthday party tomorrow at my friend, Laura's house. Looking forward to seeing her, her 3 boys as well as her family. Go look at THIS picture of him the day he was born.

Christmas 2011

December 24, 2011 - Christmas Eve

Christmas overall was pretty laid back this year. Since Wayne had to work from 10a-4p on Christmas Eve we didn't travel anywhere. About a week before Christmas Hailey received these from our friends down in Florida. They are Santa booties and a bib. Love them. Thanks Lynn and Mark for the gifts for Hailey!

Hailey and I went to The Horton's house for a noon gathering. It was The Horton Gang (Mark, Dianne, Veronika, Aly, Rachel, Evan, Elliott, Grandma Jo and then Jared stopped by for a bit) and then the Danielson Gang (Me, Hailey, Kim, Paul and Andy came, too). We hung out for the afternoon, talked, ate, opened gifts and then we were on our way home.

Hailey opening up her gift from The Hortons. She didn't know what to think about the bow or the paper. You can see she was wearing the "I <3 Santa" bib. You can't see that she was also wearing the booties, but she was.

I had to take this classic picture. She's the best gift I've ever gotten!

The Danielson Gang had plans to meet at church for the 5:30p service. We went to Calvary Lutheran in Golden Valley. It was different than my normal church in EP, but it was great. We did the candlelight service and sang Holy night, which is my absolute favorite on Christmas. There was also a lot of singing and we sat right in front by the band. Hailey loved it. It is a huge church, but so beautiful, too. I snapped this picture with my phone of Hailey in her Xmas dress (from our friends John and Jess). She's sitting on Wayne's lap just taking it all in and enjoying the music.

We had planned on spending Christmas Eve with Wayne's side of the family and then Christmas day at his Mom's also and then Christmas day night with my side.

So, after church we went to MIL Kim's house. She had the table all decked out. I love Christmas decorations.

She had wine for me, too. Love her wine glasses.So festive.

Wayne had started his diet that Thursday before (yes, 2 days before Christmas). It was not his choice, believe me. But everyone was so accommodating with his meals. Kim is such a wonderful cook, so while we ate ham and au grautin potatoes (you know all the REALLY good stuff), Wayne ate fish and broccoli.

He ate it and didn't complain one time. I am still working on a post about his new diet and everything that comes along with that. Let's just say he has done such a great job so far, and we have a long road ahead.

We opened some gifts and had lots of laughs. Hailey loved her puppy from Gramma Kimmy!

She also got some clothes and a rocking horse from Green Grandma!

It's going to take a little bit for her to grow into it, but we know she will have a rockin good time when she does.

Sunday, December 25, 2011 - Christmas Day

Wayne and I got up Christmas morning and exchanged gifts. This year we agreed not to tell each other what we were going to get them and have it be a complete surprise. Usually we each pick out our own gift and we go from there. I got him some bu-ray movies. Elf, which neither of us had ever seen, so when it was on sale I couldn't pass it up. I also got him Fast Five and Due Date, which we both have seen, but love. They were nothing spectacular, but that's what he likes, movies and video games.

Wayne is so much better at gift giving than I am. He always has been and he always will be and this year he didn't fail. He surprised me with this:

I haven't watched it yet, can you believe that? But I have watched the trailer several times and I can't wait. I just need to find a night where I can take some time to REALLY enjoy it while I watch it. He also surprised me with this:

I picked it out while we were Christmas shopping for his Mom's charm bracelet. I told him to wait, cause once again...we were Christmas shopping...for others...not for me. I told him it could wait until Valentines Day. He thought otherwise. It's a pearl with diamonds around it. Hailey was born in June and one of the birthstones is pearl. I LOVE it. Like I said HE IS SO GOOD!

Every year on Christmas Day, my MIL Kim has an open house type thing at her house. She makes a butt load of great food and everyone comes in the afternoon to hang out, catch up and eat some grub. So that is exactly what we did. Minus Wayne pigging out because of his new diet. He didn't waiver one time with all the temptations. I think I ate enough for both of us though.

Later that afternoon we had plans to meet my side at my parents house for our little family Christmas. My Mom had planned on making spaghetti. She did and we all ate that, except for Wayne who stuck hard to his diet and had chicken and veggies. He also hadn't cheated at all at his Mom's house earlier in the day, so I was so proud of him.

After dinner we opened some gifts:

Hailey mostly got some books and some clothes this Christmas. She wasn't playing with too many toys, yet. She did get a johnny jump up, which she still LOVES!

You can't tell by this picture, but trust me she does. Wayne and I got a brand new desktop computer. Thanks parents! It has come in very useful because if you have read my previous posts, our laptop died about 2 weeks ago. Sucky!

We played dominoes as we always do and sat around until the late night and chatted. We then headed home and put Hailey to bed. Both Wayne and I were crushed as Hailey's first Christmas was over. Just like that it was done. But it was great. We did snap this quick family photo that night and you can see that she did wear the booties.

We went to FLASH Portraits at Ridgdale Mall again. The same place we had her NEWBORN pictures taken. She had just turned 5 months old a week before and was still working on keeping her head up. I love her smiles though!

Our laptop finally died. We knew it was on it's way out, but it had kept going. I guess it's time for a new one...yippee!

I have my everyday make-up that I wear and then I have this "back-up stash" that I keep extras, etc of things. I cleaned it out one evening. It so needed to be done.

I am obsessed with this certain brand of Kettle Corn. So good.

This was the SOLD sign that was on my new car! That was a great day.

She is sitting up all by herself so good and is so proud of herself!

Lately, when we cook meats, we have been cooking a whole box or bag at a time. With Wayne's diet it's just easier that way. THIS lovely cooking machine is very handy and helpful. Love it. And the clean-up is so quick and easy. This is how we grill in MN in the winters...sadly though we haven't had much of a winter.

Me and my Dad took a trip up to Buffalo to check out Gramma's abandoned house. She moved to Arizona in October and it's a rather long story. Maybe one of these days I will actually write out the whole thing. It just makes me angry mostly though to even think about it.

She knows...2 hands on the wheel!

The Horton's new puppy, Mufasa! He is Hailey's size. Note that she just opens her mouth ready for him to kiss her. That's puppy kisses for you right there.

We had a playdate this week. JJ meat Hailey. He wanted to grab at her. She just stared at him. It was love at first sight. Daddy said NO BOYS!

My Husband made me breakfast one morning this week. Eggs, walffles, fruit and milk. It was heavenly.

7 months

On January 12th you went to the Dr for your 6 month check-up and...

You weighed 18 lbs 6 oz.

You were 27 3/4 inches long.

Your head was 17 3/4 inches round.

You have tried all the beginner fruits and veggies and are now onto more diverse food combos, such as Banana Mango or Pear & Wild Blueberry for breakfast and Beef and Vegetable or Apples and Chicken for dinner.

You have pretty much liked everything you have tried so far.

You eat a fruit combo in the morning (with Oatmeal) and a vegetable/protein combo at night (with Rice cereal).

You eat about 4 oz of milk for daytime feedings and about 6 oz of milk at bedtime.

You are usually in bed by about 9pm and sleep until about 8am...on average. You are still sleeping great and Mommy really appreciates that.

You love to pull on the dogs hair. They have started to get a little nervous around you because you like to scream at them. It makes us laugh.

You still put everything in your mouth.

You are such a drool machine! You go through about 3-4 bibs a day.

You love your jumperoo and your walker.

You are really grabbing onto things on your jumperoo and activity gym and pulling on them.

You now sit up by yourself for long periods of time.

You still have deep, gray eyes.

Your hair is still growing and Mommy actually had to cut your bangs. This is a before and after shot.

You are growing right on rack, but are still our peanut.

You are wearing a few 3-6 month clothing, but are mostly in all 6 month clothing and pajamas.

Your giggle is the best thing in this entire world.

You are officially in size three diapers.

You open your mouth when we kiss you like you are trying to kiss back.

You have two teeth now. Mommy and Daddy were so surprised, because you were not even fussy at all.

You have definitely found your teeth and make funny faces.

You are always talking and making noise.

You still don't care for your nuk at all. I can't even remember the last time you had it.

You still don't like tummy time, but pull your knees underneath you almost like you are ready to crawl. You don't last very long on your tummy at all, though and we find you rolling over to your back.

You love when we hold your hands and you stand up. You are so proud.

You LOVE your jumper you got for Christmas.

One morning Mommy put you in there for just a little bit and you fell asleep still holding your teether.

You LOVE bath time. We still do bath's in the infant tub, because you are just really starting to sit up on your own and Mommy is a nervous nelly.

You have so much hair, so one night I tried this just to see what your reaction would be. You didn't try and fight me or anything. You just laid there and loved it.

You rocked your first pony tail one night after bathtime.

You are the most adorable little human being on this planet and your smile is infectious.

We love you so much and cherish each and every single day with you!

Today was KDWB's annual concert Jingle Ball. I took my sisters, Amie and Kate, and Amie's friend Maria. This was the three girls walking in the skyway to Target Center. I thought they were so cute walking all in a row. They made shirts and were so excited!

Today was my Mom's birthday and boy did we have a surprise for her! My Dad had talked to me about a month beforehand and had the idea that he wanted to surprise her with an overnight hotel stay. My parents NEVER do this, so he knew it would totally be unexpected. He arranged it all himself, but he wanted to make sure it was OK that my sisters spent the night at our house. It all worked out perfectly and she had no idea what was happening. We were on our way to dinner and then suddenly we turned off into a hotel parking lot and then we spilled the beans. She was totally surprised! After we went upstairs to check out the room, we did go eat dinner at TGIFRiday (love that place) and then came back to the hotel to swim. It was Hailey's first pool/swim experience, so we got a bunch of photos and even a video. You can go see the swim video HERE. The following are a couple of cute pictures from the evening.

Tonight we met our friend's Pat & Wendy Mahoney for dinner at Champps. They were in town for the week from Kansas. It was so nice seeing them again. I hadn't seen them since the end of May (when I was still pregnant). It was their first time meeting Hailey and I always look forward to seeing them when they are in town. It was a great dinner and great conversation as always with the Mahoney's!

Tonight we had planned for my sisters to spend the night at our house, because my parents had an out of town wedding to attend to. So since I had a couple of babysitters, I decided to go to Wayne's gig at Babe's.

It was so fun. I had a blast!

December is always a busy month for my Husband's job as well. It's the time of year where everyone takes time off, which means he has to step up and work more than normal. We're not complaining by any means, it just throws a wrench into our normal schedule/routine and I felt very much like a single parent most nights home with Hailey. It didn't help with the Christmas shopping and planning either. But I feel like we have great communication skills when it comes to our marriage, so we survived as we always do every year.

We had also found out at the end of December that starting Thursdays in January, he will have another gig that will take him out of the house. I love the great opportunities that he gets and the money is nothing to complain about either, but it will be another adjustment.

Well, here's to another great year, with more fun filled times and laughter ahead!

Let's just start out this post by saying Thank You to my wonderful Husband, who loves me unconditionally and supports me in all my neurotic tendencies. This wouldn't have been possible without him and his help of making phone calls and his understanding. Us getting this car was the result of us at the dealership 3 days in a row. Love you, honey!

Now, to reveal my beautiful new ride. I'm so proud of it and love it so much. I want to drive everyone, everywhere.. Who wants to drive? I WILL!!

If you know me in real life or have been reading my blog for awhile, you know I just got a "new" car at the end of September, actually September 26, 2011, to be exact. Well, just about 4 months to the day I got THIS "new" one. While it's not new (obviously it's a 2008) and it's really nothing fancy, like a BMW or Mercedes or anything, it is "new to me" and perfect for me AND my family.

I LOVE IT!!

Last September we purchased a 2007 Dodge Caliber. See this post HERE for a few pictures. While I liked the car initially, I wasn't in love with it and I knew that leaving the lot. I felt like it was my best option at the time, so we went for it. It was something we could afford and somewhat of a crossover type with ~~what we thought was~~ more room than my 2002 Toyota Camry. Overall it was a great vehicle, but with my Husband being a bigger guy, he hated it and called it the micro machine. He refused to drive it, let alone ride in it. So that was that. There were also a few other things it was lacking and therefore prompted us to start looking. Again.

I used to drive a 1991 Chevy Blazer S10 in High School and post HS (from about 1999-2004), courtesy of my Dad and I loved it.Then it became old and needed fixing and after throwing some money into, we traded that off in 2004 for a 2002 Toyota Camry. While I loved my Toyota Camry (I had that for almost 8 years), I always really missed driving an SUV. I figured since the Caliber is somewhat of a crossover, it would totally fit our needs. Wrong. It did sit higher, which I liked, but it just wasn't cutting it with the space we needed. I feel like the Equinox is not only more roomy, but has such a warm and homey feeling to it, compared to the Caliber.

I love that it has the AUX option, so I can still hook up my IPOD for trips. That was one thing I did like about the Caliber.

One of MY main reasons for wanting to get rid of the Caliber (besides Wayne hating it) is because it didn't have power locks. Or power windows for that matter, but that was not as important or convenient as power locks. Yes, I knew that when we bought it, but I thought it was something that I could just get used to. Something I would have to adapt to. I thought it would be simple. Wrong. Do you know how hard that is. Extremely. Especially with a baby in a car seat, a purse, a diaper bag and whatever else I usually tote around. Let's just say there were many a times where there was cursing going on. It was VERY inconvenient. Actually, I hated it to be totally honest.

So between now having everything power, lots more space, my Husband actually liking the vehicle and not whispering underneath his breath about how dumb it is, I am truly a happy Wife and Momma.

What's that saying...you live and you learn? Well we did just that.

And what's that other saying? Happy Wife = Happy Life...haha. right again.

Hailey says, "Let's eat Mom!" with her smile! She loves to eat and is always so excited. We have recently moved up to level 2 foods, so now there is a lot more variety.

My MIL called me last Friday evening to tell me that our local grocery store was having a sale on Gerber baby foods. Some of them expire in February, but I still stocked up. Can't go wrong with a deal on baby food and the ones that expire in February will get first and for sure before February. I mean she eats it everyday. This is the result after my trip last Saturday. Thanks Ma!

While I was at work, Wayne sent me this sweet picture on Wednesday morning after Hailey ate her breakfast of prunes. Prunes or not, I would still kiss that lovable mug.

My dinner one night this week consisted of eggo waffles and toaster strudel. So random, but so good. Oh well.

Now that the Minnesota temps have take a plummet, I am still loving my Body Dew. I think I put the caption as Body Dew = skin saver!

We were at my parents one day this week and my Mom put Hailey in the clothes basket.

My Dad then proceeded to push her all around the house. Let's just say she loved it.

I've been wanting to get my nails done now for a couple weeks. I also NEED a pedicure, but I just haven't been able to find the time to go to the salon. So when I was at Target this week.I picked up these. They are just the glue on nails, and have never really worked for me in the past. But we'll see how long they last.

I've seen this on a few blogs and thought I would participate. I love these questionnaire type things. I also love getting to know other mommy/blogger friends. So do it, leave me a link to your blog and I will read yours!! I hope to be able to do this every year and reflect on the last year lived. I did tweak a couple of questions to more reflect my life.

1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?

Had a baby and with that includes trimester 2 and 3 of pregnancy, labor with no epidural with an eventual c-section and a rough recovery with a newborn in NICU. Thank god for my wonderful Hubs and family for all their help, love and support!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I'm not a huge resolution person, but I am going to set goals for myself. I like the word "goal" instead. It sounds more achievable and less cold. You can read mine HERE.

3. How will/did you spend New Year's Eve?

From 2010 into 2011 I was sleeping. I was just getting out of my 1st Trimester and still tired all the time.

From 2011 into 2012 I was with the Hubs at his gig at Babe's in Lakeville with some friends and family. I had a most fabulous time! My sisters stayed at our house over night and babysat Hailey.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

No, fortunately. But I did attend the funeral of a high school classmate of mine, Jimmy, that took his life. Very tragic, but I'm so glad I went.

5. ~~What countries did you visit?~~ What vacations did you take?

Hailey and I took a 5 day trip to Arkansas to visit my Great Grandma, so Hailey's Great Great Grandma. 5 Generations all together. See it HERE.

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?

A substantial savings account.

7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

June 26th. It was the day I became a Mommy and my world was forever changed.

8. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year?

Going through labor, c-section, getting through the first month of mommy-hood. I'm not going to sugar coat it, it was rough. But I think it always is for every new Mom. It does get better with time and as they get older. Keep your head up!

9. What was your biggest failure?

I wouldn't say failure. I don't think I really failed at anything, but as stated in #6, I want a savings account a/k/a emergency fund a/k/a nest egg.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Other than the complications with the c-section and recovery, no.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

My new IPhone 4s. A month ago I would have said my new car, but I'm starting to dislike it. Not the car itself, but I foolishly bought a 2007 with no power windows or locks (how dumb is that) and it's a little on the small side, so Wayne HATES it! Granted he is a big guy and he is losing weight, but it's still on the smaller side. Oh well, we live and learn right? We'll see what 2012 has to bring as far as new car(s) go.

12. Where did most of your money go?

Her name is Hailey. LOL.

13. What song will always remind you of 2011?

Anything by LMFAO. Saw them in concert. Will go again the next time they are in town. Love them lots.

14. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Exercise and read.

15. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Be lazy. Not exercise.

16. What was your favorite TV program?

I have too many to count. My one new favorite this fall in 2011 is Revenge. Anyone else watch it?

17. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

I try really hard not to hate any one, but there is certainly some people that I don't really like and distance myself from them.

18. What was the best book you read?

The Hunger Games series. Too good for words and so excited for the movie in March 2012.

19. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Adele. I got her 21 CD and fell in love. Then my Hubs got me her concert on DVD for Christmas this year. Thank you honey!

20. What was your favorite film of this year?

Breaking Dawn, Part 1, obviously. We have waited so long for each one to come out. I not only love the movies and the books, but it's also something I can relate to friends and family about. Especially my sisters!

21. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 28 and spent the evening at Babes at Wayne's gig with some family and friends. I was 7 months preggo and still on the dance floor!!

22. What kept you sane?

Wayne and my Mom. Without these two, my world would be a mess.

23. Who did you miss?

I don't see my Grandma Kleene as often as I would like to. I miss her and now with me having a baby of my own, I want her to see Hailey more often.

I also miss Green Grandma. Wayne's Grandma Sharon moved down to Arizona at the end of October and I really hate it. I want her to move back so bad. It makes me sad.

24. Who was the best new person you met?

I would have to say my co-worker friendships really flourished. There were 2 new people that started at the last quarter of 2010 and another that started in June 2011. I have enjoyed getting to know all three of them more personally and working with them everyday.

25. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011.

It was something my pastor (Paul) said at Jimmy's funeral..."Love them while you can and love them well." I just think this quote speaks volumes and I try and remember it everyday.

Today we had our annual Stager Christmas, but Wayne was the Best Man in his friend Shane's wedding. His friend John was also a groomsman, so while they were getting ready and taking professional pictures, I split my day with the first half at my parent's house for Christmas and the second half at the Miller Wedding. We had already arranged for Hailey to spend the night at my parents house, so Wayne and I could have a night out with friends. I did not take many pictures of Christmas, because I was not really there too long. But here are a couple pictures from our family Christmas in November:

The Miller wedding was at 4pm, so I left my parent's house at about 3pm with my friend Jess (John's girlfriend). Since both boys were in the wedding, we decided to go together. I didn't get very great pictures of the actual wedding, but it was your run of the mill wedding as you can imagine.

After the wedding was the buffet dinner and cake, with speeches. As the best man, Wayne gave his speech.

After all the sappy and sentimental stuff, it was party time!

Then as the dance was getting going, all of a sudden I was summoned to the dance floor...and given a "lap dance" by my Husband. It was quite the funny moment as we all know and are friends with the DJ, so it was all planned beforehand. I was mortified at the beginning. I was like "this isn't my wedding." But it ended up being harmless and funny as you can see.

Today was our 5 year wedding anniversary. I can't believe we've been married for 5 years already. Wow! Wayne has a gig every Friday night, so while he was at work for the night, I went to a Pure Romance Party with my cousin, Beth. My Mom came to our house to babysit Hailey for the evening.

If you've never been, it's really not as "kinky" or embarassing as it sounds. I mean, I guess it could be if that was the intention, but this party was lovely all the way around. I, personally, had never been to a Pure Romance Party, but I had so much fun. We played Bingo and won prizes. My cousin, Beth, won Entice in the Mangosteen scent, but gifted it to me as it was my first time at a party and lets face it, I stink at Bingo:

I ate some great food, had some interesting conversations, met some fun ladies and bought a few products.

My favorite is the Body Dew, in the Original scent.

I also got Coochy, in the Pear Berry scent. Love it!!

I also got the new IPhone 4s in October when it came out, so that was my big anniversary gift. I like having an excuse like "anniversary gift" to purchase new and expensive things for myself. Haha.

This weekend we went to Clara City from Friday night - Sunday afternoon. My 2 sisters rode with me and Hailey out there and back. Here are some of the pictures I snapped of the weekend

It actually snowed that weekend...at least in Clara City it did. Hailey wore this yellow snow suit that weekend. Wayne actually wore this when he was little. It is a 3 month snow suit, but at that point Hailey was almost 5 months. It was pretty tight fitting, but worked for that weekend.

We started eating rice cereal that weekend. This was the first time she had it (not in her bottle). I don't think she knew what to do with it once it was in her mouth. It just kinda sat there for awhile until she realized that she needed to swallow it.

I love these next pictures. This is my Grandma Kleene (maternal Grandmother). She raised me for the first part of my life. Long story short, my Mom had me when she was just 16 years old and a junior in high school. Needless to say, she needed help and my Grandma and Grandpa were there. Love them for stepping up and helping and love my Mom for being a single Mom for awhile and doing it on her own. Anyways, I love my Grandma dearly and for her to now see my child, her Great Grandchild, is beyond words.

I usually spend Thanksgiving with my family as it is one of the times of year that I get to see my Grandma Kleene. Well, since my Aunt Laurie + family was going down to Iowa for Thanksgiving to see my cousin Jarred, they didn't have enough room to drop Grandma off for the day at my parents house. I was ~~not happy and~~ so sad I didn't get to see her for Thanksgiving, but it was still a great day.

Since it was Hailey's first Thanksgiving, we invited Wayne's Mom, her boyfriend, Paul and his Brother, Andy, to my parents for a joint Thanksgiving, but they decided to stay home. To each there own. We still ate lots of yummy food, watched football and played dominoes.

At noon we had a baby shower for Elliott Norman Horton. He was born September 26th, so him and Hailey are exactly 3 months apart. Elliott's Mom, Rachel was on strict bed rest for the last 12 weeks of pregnancy, so there was no baby shower, pre-baby. Therefore on Elliott's 2 month birthday (and Hailey's 5 month birthday) we celebrated his birth at his Grandma Dianne's house with Aunt Veronika and Aunt Aly hosting

After a super emotional, spiritual and fulfilling morning at Church, we headed to Park Tavern in St. Louis Park for a benefit for a teenager that is battling cancer and sadly is losing. Luke and his family are friends of a friend of ours. Wayne was asked to emcee the benefit, which included a silent auction, drawings for prizes, Team Luke t-shirts, pizza and bowling. My Mom and sisters met us for some bowling, while Wayne worked the crowd!! We were so happy to support this family and Luke!

Green Grandma decided to move down to Arizona with her sister, so that means we inherited a bunch of her furniture, etc. We got a leather couch, a recliner, Christmas dishes, a plug in fireplace, Rachel Ray pots/pans, just to name a few things. It was a sad day, but it was a long time coming. She was losing her house, couldn't afford it and filing bankruptcy. We miss her dearly!! Love you Grandma!

We had a a mini photoshoot in the yard with some leaves and a few other pumpkins I got. Grandpa Stager bought Hailey this adorable pumpkin outfit in Arkansas. I knew I wanted to take some photos with her in it and this was just perfect with her pumpkin.

This is my goal list for this year.

Some goals to myself for 2012:

Join a gym and go at least 3 times a week;
Lose a minimum of 10 lbs;
Get toned;
Cook more meals and eat more healthy;
Go on at least 1 vacation...somewhere out of the state of MN;
Start a running regimen;
Catch up on scrapbooks of Wayne's work a/k/a radio stations;
Look into digital scrapbook programs and get scrapbooks organized;
Start scrapbook of "professional" pics of Hailey AND keep it up to date;
Ride the bus at least 3 times a week;
Read 6 books this year...average 1 every 2 months;
Blog more often and about more topics (other than Hailey);
Make more personal time for me & Husband;

I make this list in hopes I can look back at it throughout the year and add to it or see how I'm doing.

Addition made on 1/3/2012:

Come up with a cleaning schedule - don't be so lazy with chores;
Pay off debts first;
Start and build on a savings account second;
Clean up credit reports and build up credit score;

Addition made on 1/5/2012:

Bring my lunch to work at least 3 times a week;
Wake up in the morning at a time so that I am not rushing out the door;

6 months

And because I could not pass on posting this one:

You are seriously, too cute!

You tried your first baby food (carrots) on Friday, 12/2/2011.

You didn't like them. But they have grown on you since then.

You have tried squash, green beans, sweet potatoes and peas this month. You also tried a few fruits...bananas, apples and pears so far.

You have pretty much liked them all.

You eat a fruit in the morning and a vegetable at night. You eat about 6 oz of milk at a time in between that.

You are always trying to pull on my hair.

You love to pull on the dogs hair, too. They still love you!

You are always sucking on your hands.

You are constantly putting everything in your mouth.

You are a drool machine!

You love your jumperoo and your walker.

You are grabbing onto things on your jumperoo and activity gym and pulling on them.

You are working on sitting up all by yourself. You are almost there.

You have deep, gray eyes.

Your hair is still growing.

You are getting more chub, but I still think you are smaller than other babies.

You are wearing 3-6 months and just now starting to get into your 6 month clothing and pajamas.

Your giggle is the cutest thing we have ever heard.

You are in between size two and three diapers.

You open your mouth when we kiss you like you are trying to kiss back.

You are rolling over from tummy to back and scared me one morning when I went in to check on you and you were sleeping on your tummy. That was definitely a first.

You are still sleeping great. You usually take a morning nap, an afternoon nap, and an evening nap. About 1 hr each. For bedtime, you are in bed by about 9pm and sleep to about 8am...on average.

You are totally smitten by your Daddy. Your eyes light up when you see him and his eyes light up when he sees you. One look from him and you give the biggest grin.

You have definitely found your tongue and are sticking it out and making funny faces.

You are so loud and noisy now. Always babbling and screaming and carrying on.

You still don't care for your nuk...pretty much ever. I don't know yet if that's bad or good.

You still don't like tummy time at all, but pull your knees underneath you almost like you are ready to crawl. You don't last very long on your tummy at all.

You love standing and jumping. You just got a jumper for Christmas and can't wait to really use it.

You have started to take a lot of baths lately and are really starting to enjoy it

You recently had your first pool experience in your bathing suit. We all went swimming at a hotel for Grandma Stager's birthday!

You wore your first pair of jeggings.

You are such a joy and we are so thankful of all our days with you!

Your first Christmas was truly amazing and magical!We can't wait to share more holidays with you!

Laura & Scott

Laura is one of my closest friends. We became friends when Wayne and I started dating back in 2002. She is mentioned regularly on this blog. I was honored to be a part of her and Scott's special day. It was a low-key event, but memorable and filled with happiness and many laughs by everyone. They were married on a roof-top in downtown Minneapolis. It was quite ~~hot~~ warm that day, but beautiful to say the least.

Josh & Michaela

Wayne and Josh have been friends since 2004, when Wayne started working at KCLD in St. Cloud. We were there when Josh first started dating Michaela and have seen their relationship grow from just dating, to moving in together, to getting engaged, to now married! We don't see them as often as we would like, but are hoping to change that. Josh was working in Rochester with Michaela commuting to the Cities everyday, so they were living in between, but Josh recently found a great new job in the Cities, so now they are moving closer! I hope that means getting together more often!

Wayne went to the rehearsal & dinner Friday night (9/23) in Welch, MN by himself cause he also needed to pick up his tux in Rochester. I had to work and it was a lot of driving around to take Hailey with. The next day our little family of three made our way down to Welch, MN for the ceremony and then onto Red Wing for the reception. Everything was beautiful, especially the Bride. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day.

Wayne was an Usher. He felt totally honored as he was the only person in the wedding party that wasn't a family member. I thought that meant a lot being he was the only friend in the wedding.

1) I don't do self manicures well.

2) I think nail polish looks funny on me. I don't have the fingers for it.

3) I don't have the time to keep up with it.

Obviously it would be Hailey and my Husband. But more specific would be our health. I just know too many people/children/babies that have complications or are going through various things and it breaks my heart every time I hear of something new. Just this week, I heard through a friend that these parents lost their 3 year old to a heart attack. This little boy had heart surgery when he was little, so they knew it might be a possibility, but it's still devastating nonetheless.

I saw this on a blog I follow and thought it would be fun to participate!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?

Mostly gift bags. I go to the Dollar Tree and stock up. They are super cheap ($1) and come in so many different sizes/colors. I usually can fit more than just one thing in them, too. Also, then people can reuse them if they feel like it. I feel like wrapping paper can be such a waste.

2. Real tree or artificial?

Artificial. But now that we have Hailey we might have to start a tradition of going to a tree farm and picking out our own tree. We'll see about next year.

3. When do you put up the tree?

Usually the day after Thanksgiving we put up the tree, but I start decorating for Christmas usually right away in November. As I take down Halloween decorations, I put up Christmas stuff. Might as well, right?

4. When do you take the tree down?

First week of January. I don't like to rip it all down and put everything away right away.

5. Do you like eggnog?

No!

6. Favorite gift received as a child?

Anything Barbie. I don't remember specifically what year, but I got a Barbie house and a Barbie limo. I was so pumped.

7. Do you have a nativity scene?

No.

8. Hardest person to buy for?

My Dad. He has like everything. I never know what to get him.

9. Easiest person to buy for?

My sisters. They usually make a list and then I go off that. Plus, they like pretty much anything.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?

Mail. I love getting them every year and sending ours out. Probably my favorite part about Christmas besides Music.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?

Can't think of anything off hand. I think every girl goes through a stage, where all you get is lotions, etc. I didn't like that, but I am usually thankful for all gifts received.

12. Favorite Christmas movie?

I like the Charlie Brown Christmas. That's a classic.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?

I am so bad and usually wait until the pay period before Christmas to get things done. I might get a few things earlier, but not much.

14. Ever recycled a Christmas present?

Yes.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?

Potatoes...any kind...mashed, cheesy, etc.

16. Clear lights or colored lights on the tree?

We bought an artificial pre-lit a few years ago with colored, but I think I I wanna go just white next time!

17. Favorite Christmas song?

Silent Night. In my hometown's church (Immanuel Lutheran in Clara City) they do a great tradition on Christmas Eve of handing out candles to everyone and then they all get lit and we sing Silent Night as a tradition. Favorite!!!

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?

The last few years we have stayed home.And by home, I mean around the Twin Cities area. My Hubs usually has to work on either Christmas Eve or Day or both, so it's hard to really go anywhere.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen , Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph!

20. Angel on the tree top or star?

Angel. To me it represents my sister, Keli Jo, that passed away at 3 months old from SIDS. I was in 6th grade.I love it.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?

Both. With certain family it's Christmas Eve and then with other family it's Christmas morning. Now that we have a child, I would like to wait until Christmas morning to open up presents from Santa.

22. Most annoying this about this time of year?

The crowds at the stores and the parking lots especially.

23. Favorite ornamnet, theme, or color?

My favorite color to wear during the holiday season is red. It just gets me in the holiday spirit so much.

24. What do you want for Christmas this year?

We want a lot of big stuff this year. A new computer, new camera, car starters for both of our cars. We both need some new clothes. I need a new pair of tennis shoes and I want a pair of brown boots.

These twins will graduate from Prior Lake High School in 2012. These are my Mom's best friends kids. I've literally known them their whole life. I used to babysit them when they were little and change their diapers. Makes me feel so old, but I was honored to take their senior pictures. We had such a fun afternoon.

5 months

You are definitely starting to develop your own personality.

You smile all the time at everyone you meet. We often have people comment on what a happy baby you are.

You are wearing 3 month - 6 month clothes. This is a snow suit that your Daddy wore when he was little like you. There were a few days where it was chilly enough to put you in this. But now you have outgrown it.

You are growing so fast.

You are still wearing size 2 diapers and still don't mind diaper changing.

You are finding your voice and starting to babble ~~talk~~ a lot.

You are getting a lot more interactive and are talking ~~sometimes screaming~~ all the time now. I think you will be taking after your Daddy in that department.

You started having rice cereal in your bottles on 11/1/2011. 1-2 tablespoons in the morning for breakfast and 1-2 tablespoons at night for dinner. You did this for about three weeks and it went great.

You seemed to sleep longer at night.

You are pretty much sleeping from about 10p - 7a for the most part. Some nights are different than others, but I still think you are sleeping great.

You started having about 2 tablespoons of rice cereal for breakfast in the a.m. and another 2 tablespoons for dinner in the p.m. on 11/19/2011. Daddy usually feeds you your breakfast and Mommy has dinner duty.

You usually do great in your car seat.

You usually fall asleep in the car, but if you wake up, you just kind of sit and look around. If you are hungry though, nothing can make you happy or content (not even your nuk).

Your hair continues to grow. I joke that you have a little mullet. Everyone keeps saying that you will need a haircut soon, but Mommy says not until it's in your face!

You are still such a good baby; always super content and still have the "go with the flow" attitude.

You have not shown any stranger anxiety yet when we meet someone new.

You still strain to sit up.

You love to sit in your Bumbo seat, but you are outgrowing it fast.

You still love your activity gym.

You love the walker at Grandma and Grandpa Stager's house.

You love when we hold your hands and we pull you up to stand.

You are so proud of yourself and give us a big grin.

You still like to cuddle and rock before bed.

You sometimes still fight sleep, but we continue to rock through it.

You still only need your nuk for soothing purposes. It seems to calm you down if you are tired.

Your favorite place to fall asleep is still on Daddy's chest.
I agree that he is super comfy.

You usually wear a bib now during the day because you are drooling so much.

You still like showers most of the time, but Mommy has given you a couple baths lately when needed.

You are getting used to the water going over your head and even smile when Mommy or Daddy assure you that you are all right.

We have found that you are ticklish on your sides and you have continued to giggle when we do that.

You are still ticklish on the bottoms of your feet, too.

You seem to be more and more interested in your puppies and what they are doing.

You often just stare at them. I have to say they love you, too.

You continue to be the light in our lives and we love you very much.

I'm Thankful...Days 24 - 30

November 24th: I'm thankful for food and tradition and laughter.

I don't know why, but it's the only time of year I usually eat pumpkin pie. We also watch football and play dominoes as a family every year and have lots of laughs. It's such a happy time.

November 25th: I'm thankful for holidays. This is my favorite time of the year and it will be our first with child. I usually get the day after Thanksgiving off. We usually put up Christmas decorations and the tree. This is our tree this year. It's a pre-lit that we bought a few years ago at Walmart. It's never looked so small. Maybe we'll have to invest in a bigger one next year. Nevertheless it still makes me happy.

November 26th: I'm thankful for the gift of life. Today we went to a baby shower celebrating the life of Elliott Horton. His Mommy, Rachel, is married to Wayne's cousin, Evan. Elliott is exactly 3 months younger than Hailey. So that means today Hailey is 5 months old (6/26) and Elliott is 2 months old (9/26). Rachel had a very rough pregnancy and was in the hospital 7 times (8th time he was born) and on complete bed-rest from about week 27. Let's just say he is a very blessed little boy with lots of people around him that love him. We are so happy he arrived safe and healthy. Here is the 4 of us today.

November 27th: I'm thankful for my Church (Immanuel Lutheran) and pastors (Paul and Susan).

I have been at the same church since I was in 3rd grade. I have had the same pastor (Paul) since I started confirmation in 7th grade. Pastor Paul saw me through confirmation and also married Wayne and I in 2006. It is such a great community of faith.

November 28th: I'm thankful for my DVR. It is something silly and trivial, but anything that makes my life a little bit easier and more convenient I am a fan of.

November 29th: I'm thankful for memories. I found out last Wednesday (23rd) that a childhood classmate took his life. His parents found him and it is a terribly sad situation. It definitely put a whole new meaning on being "Thankful." His funeral was today and I cried a lot at what everyone had to say not only about Jimmy, but about life in general.

A quote from the day that will always stick with me was said by Pastor Paul..."Love them while you can and love them well." A message to anyone that feels like nobody cares...there is always someone and it will get better.

And a message to those who care, always say I Love You. You never know when it might be the last time.

November 30th: I'm thankful for movie night. There is nothing better than getting comfy (usually in PJs) on the couch (with a blanket) and either a soda and popcorn or candy (or both) and putting in a movie with the lights off. It's the sense of escaping to another time and place or even a whole other world.

I'm Thankful...Days 22 & 23

November 22nd: I'm thankful for Caribou Coffee. It's sometimes the small things in life that can brighten up any day. Some days ~~more often than not~~ it's a little something from my fave coffee shop.

I also prefer them over other coffee shops because they are a Minnesota company! Yay!

November 23rd: I'm thankful for my coworkers. I not only love my job, boss and what I do everyday, but I love the people I work with, too. Which really makes all the difference. Being in a 9-5, desk job type setting, you tend to spend a lot of time with them every day, week, month and year, so I think it's an important piece of someones everyday life.

So thankful for mine!

I'm Thankful... Days 19-21

November 19th: I'm thankful for my Grandma Kleene.

I would not be where I am today without the love of my Grandma Kleene. She is my Maternal Grandmother. She will be 87 in January, is doing well and I am so happy and grateful that she has been able to see Hailey (her great grand-daughter).

November 20th: I'm thankful for my digital cameras. Without them I would not be able to take beautiful pictures like the ones in this post. I wouldn't be able to capture moments in our lives to last forever. It would also be a lot harder to scrapbook and blog.

November 21st: I'm thankful for music. It sure comes in handy when driving 2 hours out to our hometown and 2 hours back. It not only helps pass the time, but it also gives me and my sisters something to connect and chat about!

November 17th: I'm thankful for technology. There are so many ways and things involved with this one; you could really take it a lot of different ways. I take technology as my computer, internet, cell phone, Nook, IPod and DVR. Those are just a few that play big roles in my life on a daily bases. They are the things that make my life so convenient and without these advances I'm not sure where I would be.
